What did you write today? Was it easy? Was it fun? Or did you not write at all, despite wanting to?
The creative vision that feels too big to fit onto the page, the fear of ruining your art by making it, the dream that won't die but that you can't quite breathe life into — these are pains that time alone cannot heal. You've been suffering them, and being far too good a sport about it, for far too long.
Maybe you've wanted to write for as long as you can remember, but never got around to it, and now you fear it's too late. Tangled in damp sheets at 3am, you put your choices on trial: the MFA you traded for the "sensible" path, the timing of the kids, the safe life you built, the chaotic years that waylaid you. And still it claws its way up out of its shallow grave: Wasn't I supposed to be a writer?
Or maybe you do write — all day, in fact, but only ever for other people. So why, when you finally sit down to write the thing that's actually yours, does every skill you own jam or break in your hands? I'm literally a writer, you think. Why can't I write what I actually want to? And then the worse thought: Maybe I'm a fraud. Every year you drift further from the writing you became a writer for, and every year you feel its hot breath closer on your neck.

And yes, you can be afflicted by it even if you don't dare call yourself a "real writer".
What's worse is when you don't even recognize it as a block. Maybe you think it's just the truth about yourself. Because there's a voice in your head, and it sounds so reasonable, and it says:
If you were truly passionate, you wouldn't be able to stop yourself from writing. If you were truly disciplined, you wouldn't be here reading a website about getting unblocked; you'd be writing. But you aren't. You're a dabbler, a dilettante. You're wasting your own days and years.
And besides — you're a day late and a dollar short. The real writers have been running circles around you. Leave it to the big boys and girls, and get out of the road.
Here's what that voice will never tell you, because it would lose its grip on you the instant you knew the truth: every word of it is a lie.
It accuses you of lacking passion. But look at what's actually true — you are pursued by a passion too strong to shake, fizzing with stories that demand to be told. By you. The only reason you haven't found your feet is that fear got to the desk first, and left no room for craft to grow.
There's a line from Brené Brown I keep close: unused creativity is not benign — it metastasizes. Left alone, blocked creativity festers — into grief, into resentment, into the low private ache you've mistaken for your personality. But none of this is a terminal diagnosis. You aren't too late, or too rusty, or too weird. You're just blocked. And blocked, my love, is a temporary condition with a real cure.
Everything you can't feel yet — your vitality, your unique voice, your decoder ring to the great mystery of your own life — is all still in there, waiting for you to come and get it.
I made you something...
Writer's block sounds like one simple complaint, but it's really a syndrome — a cluster of related conditions. And most of us don't get just one. You can be sure of your story but afraid of what it'll cost to tell it. Block. Ready to speak your truth and unable to find the words. Block. Easy to start and impossible to finish. Block. They're different manifestations of the same condition, and together they can result in painful creative paralysis. That's why the apothecary holds five remedies, not one cure-all — reach for the one that meets your loudest pain, or take them all and heal the whole writer in you.

Every remedy comes with two things: a short video, where I walk you through the cure in your ear like a friend who's been exactly where you are — and a guided worksheet you keep for good, built around one core exercise plus a few alternate ways in. (Finish Line adds a ten-day challenge.)
No login to wrestle, no course platform, no syllabus. You open it, and you start. Instant access, yours forever, on any device, at whatever pace your life allows.
I'm Maggie Langrick — founding publisher of Wonderwell Press, award-winning publisher of bestselling nonfiction, and author of Writing From Your Essential Self.

For twenty years, I helped other people write their books. As an editor, and then as founding publisher, I midwifed hundreds of stories into the world. And the whole time, I couldn't write a true word of my own.
I thought my stories were too sad or strange to inflict on anyone, and too mammoth for me to wrestle onto the page. Every time I tried to write honestly, my mind rebelled and went blank. I didn't know my own voice. I was a self-abandoning artist hiding in a passion-adjacent career.
It took a health crisis to crack me open — a breakdown that turned, against all odds, into a breakthrough. That's when I finally found my way into creative flow. Everything in this apothecary is what got me there.
So when I tell you I see you, I mean it precisely. I see you, because I was you.
Take a remedy, work it honestly, and if nothing loosens — if it does nothing for you — email me your completed worksheets and your reason, and I'll give you your money back. No form, no punitive little exit survey. I would genuinely rather see you free and empowered than have $29 worth of your frustration.
Twenty-nine dollars. Less than a nice dinner, less than the writing craft book you bought and never opened, and a trivial sum compared to what another year of not-writing actually costs you: the book still unwritten, the story still roaming restless inside you, the weight of self-abandonment.
No. The apothecary was built for all blocked writers, including people who aren't yet comfortable in that identity. There's no bar to clear first — that belief is one of the things we're here to dissolve.
No, and that's deliberate. Craft books and classes are great, but they can't work when foundational blocks are present — you can't sharpen a tool you're too scared to pick up. The Unblocked kit alleviates what's actually stopping you.
The five cover the most common forms the block takes, and because it shifts shape, the full kit is built to meet it wherever it shows up next. Not sure where to start? The Diagnostic will point you to your first remedy.
Each one is designed for a single sitting. You can feel relief the same day a symptom flares. Each also has alternate exercises, so you can run the worksheet more than once.
Start with one if a single pain is loudest — each remedy stands on its own. But most blocked writers have more than one kind of stuckness, so the full apothecary is both the better value and the deeper treatment.
I'll send your money back, no hassle. (See my promise above.)
From my decades of coaching writers through their blocks, I know the pain you're in. You've kept this dream locked inside and sat on your hands, telling yourself your hesitation is keeping you safe. It isn't. It's a poison apple that fear force-fed you a long time ago, and you've been choking on it ever since. You don't have to keep choking. The antidote is right here.
We are living through some crazy times. The world has never needed your bold, brave writing more than it does right now. In a consequential moment, truth and beauty matter more, not less — it's why every would-be tyrant comes for the writers and artists first: because words are that powerful. We are only as healthy as the sickest among us — and each of us can only heal the one corner of the world that lives inside us.
Am I allowed to do this? Am I capable? Do I even matter enough to try?
Yes, you're allowed — you always were. Yes, you're capable — everything you can't feel yet is waiting on the far side of a block that has a cure. And do you matter enough to try? You matter completely, exactly enough — and the fact that you aren't 100 percent sure of that is why I get out of bed every morning.
